WAYWRN: Because there aren't enough characters in this field

Why bother with any other forum?
Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Watching the 2nd part of that 'Cars of The People' documentary. This week is micro-cars. Very interesting.

In the U.S., it has less to do with the being or not being of smart. It has to do with corporations and cooked-up regulations to keep said corporations happy. This is why the U.S. version of the Smart car is bigger than the Smart cars everywhere else. (The U.S. insisted that the Smart car's smartness be compromised and left Daimler AG smarting.)

I frequently think this: Gas is expensive and about 75% + of journeys involve 1 person and 1x bag of shopping. Maybe the Vietnamese and their 000,000's of motorcycles have it sorted??

That's it? You have no more to say about HIMYM?

I watched Superheroes on Netflix. I was expecting it to annoy me and get a lot of basic facts wrong, but it was pretty solid. Turns out more than half the content is made up of interview clips featuring the legends of the biz.

It was good stuff. I'd have preferred it if they'd focused a little less on how comics reflect and influence society and a little more on the stylistic idiosyncrasies of the various creators, but it's probably for the best they didn't set out to make something just for me. They do a pretty good job of covering all the bases you'd expect covered. It's a good primer for people who don't know a lot, but it's also a nice collection of interviews for people who live and breathe comics. It's cool to hear all the greats talking about their work.

It's likely I still would have dug it if it had been two or three times as long as it was.

That movie about the cheerleaders with Kirsten Dunst and Eliza Dushku is on tonight.

Looks like another ferret is going to bite the dust.

Will the dust be sand, and will the sand be quick?

That cheerleader movie is pretty good actually, as high school cheerleader movies go.

There was nothing quick about it, believe me. One positive thing about getting older, I guess.

Sounds like Spacey needs a little rest before the sequel.

True Blood.

Is it wrong that I really, really have a thing for the girl that plays Sarah Newlin?

Sitting in the Sky Bar of the Hilton in Leeds. Here on business. Watching my £11 G&T drain alarmingly quickly. Also watching my expenses claim this month become increasingly hard to get past the boss!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

First time, didn't watch it when it was in the movie theatre. Unbelievably impressive that they followed The Avengers and Thor 2 with a movie like this. Damn.

I saw it in the theater and liked it. Need to get it on DVD/OnDemand and watch it again. I think it's a good addition to the Marvel movie universe.

It was much better than the first Cap movie, and it motivated me to catch up on "Agents of SHIELD." I dig what they're doing with the whole interweaving.

I just couldn't quite believe how far they went with the whole conspiracy thriller type affair. It was like watching a 70s movie. And Redford helped with that vibe.

Watched the first three episodes of True Detective. They may as well just change the name of the Emmy category from "Best Actor" to the "Matthew McConaughey Award For Excellence in Acting" at this point. My God is that man just a tour de force. Unbelievably good.

Surprisingly little advertising for the home movie release of Cap 2.
