WAYWRN: Because there aren't enough characters in this field

Why bother with any other forum?
Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

At least you were in Britland. Imagine being around Americans doing this nonstop with fake and shitty British accents.

Life of Brian's a piece of shit... when you look at it.

Only joking. It's the one I like most.

Monty Python = funny.

People quoting Monty Python = not funny.

Think about every person you have ever known that has tried to quote/imitate Monty Python, and I think you will find those people are just not very funny.
What?! We trained our son to recite the "help! Help! I'm being repressed!" bit by the time he was eight. It was adorable.

Our last visit to the 70mm Film Festival was tonight for "The Master." I'm not quite sure what it was about, but it was very enjoyable. Joaquin Phoenix hardly seemed like the same actor from the last time we saw him, in "Her." Well-acted all the way around, actually.

When a child quotes Python:

1) in context and;
2) way before is really appropriate

Then it's acceptable and fun

Dalty is correct here.

Adults whiff on both of these counts 100% of the time.

Of course, if I ever have a daughter and hear her boyfriend singing to her "Sit on my face, and tell me that you love me!" that will be the point that the shotgun comes out.

To be fair, he now gets really cheesed off if we interrupt watching a movie to parrot the dialogue. I told him, however, that any girl he brings home will be subjected to the Python test: if she doesn't laugh at the fish-slapping dance, we don't approve. Luckily the current girl passes.

I had to take a Python test to get my new job. Not a whole lot of Monty involved, though.

What? With a beer company, I'd think a lot of silly walks would be involved.

Tonight with G&T.... Captain Phillips, or Tremors?

Depends how silly I feel.

I don't know about Tremors, but Captain Phillips was awesome. Absolute travesty that Hanks didn't even get an Oscar nomination.

Do I need to Netflix this? Is it time to resurrect the "Classics Adam needs to watch" thread?

It's all right. It's kinda dumb, but it plays it straight. Decent performances. It's sort of like what Jaws would be if Jaws were made in the late eighties and featured sandworms instead of a shark.
