WAYWRN: Because there aren't enough characters in this field
Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Saw "A Most Wanted Man" tonight. Nice twisty typical le Carre story, with bit of a dark side. Philip Seymour Hoffman was wonderful, of course, as was Willem DaFoe and the rest of the cast, most of whom were unknown (at least to me). The conclusion was a little abrupt, but I think that was part of the point they were making. Sad to think this was PSH's last major role.

Saw Boyhood last night. It was pretty good, but if it weren't for the fact that it was filmed over twelve years and featured aging actors, it would be a relatively unremarkable movie.

I saw it, too, and I liked quite a lot. I think having a son almost the exact same age as the title character gave it a ton of resonance for me, especially the scene with the mother as he prepares to leave for college. The thing I really liked about it was it didn't feel artificial--no dramatic twists or tragic events, just everyday moments that shaped a boy into a man. So no, not very dramatic or remarkable, but very like real life.

The Hangover. Again. While drunk-esque.
Kind of a self-fulfilling thing, I suppose.

I think I need to drag the spousal unit to see it. Mmmmm, buff Chris Pratt. And it was funny as shit. And they played a shitload of previews so my son made me leave before the stinger so he wouldn't be late for work.

I liked Ethan Hawke's character and that SPOILER: the seemingly deadbeat dad was eventually redeemed.neglet wrote:I saw it, too, and I liked quite a lot. Also, don't work at Whole Foods. He'll tell you to quit that, too.

Someday, Omi will come back here, say "Adam was right. I should've stopped" and I will feel avenged.
It will be around that time when Dalty walks into a Whole Foods, yells "WHY CAN'T I QUIT ADAM LIKE HE QUIT YOU?!" throw some ten dollar bills in the air and walk out.
Mark my words, people. Mark. My. Words.

On season 6 of HIMYM. It's hit or miss but there's still some occasional funny episodes or scenes. Not sure where Adam's hate is coming from. It's not an amazing show but I am still liking it so far. Of course, since the final season isn't on-demand yet, I might not be able to fully appreciate Adam's disdain for the show. *shrug*

Re: WAYWRN: Because there aren't enough characters in this f
I won't spoil a thing for you, but the finale. My hate for the show absolutely comes from the finale. Season 5 or 6 began the run of four straight seasons of mostly misses, but occasionally one hell of a hit. The finale just went out of it's way to undo any amount of goodwill that the show ever deserved in the first place, and I loathe it with every fiber of my being.omicron wrote:Not sure where Adam's hate is coming from. The only hits I saw in any of the seasons involved Marshall's open hand and Barney's face.

Did you see the final slap? That hit was one of their bigger misses.

I didn't. Did Marshall sing "The Final Slapdown" after the big moment?

Somebody had to crush a lot of dicks to figure out that average.
