Current Non-Annoyance
Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

I got a package from Jubbers and Goits yesterday and got to enjoy 35 minutes of Jubboiter awesomeness on (digital) film (with a short cameo by Uncle Mal).

Current Non-Annoyance
I won the fantasy football pool at work. 28 of us paid $34 at the beginning of the regular season. That made the pot each week $56. If you won one of the regular season weeks, you got 75% of that ($42). The overall winner at the end of the regular season got the remaining 25% - or $238 all together. I didn't win any of the individual weeks, but I was fairly consistent week to week and so won the big prize with a pretty nice margin.
$238!! Mwa-ha-ha!!

Which means, after adding in shipping and copies of Let it Be and Yellow Submarine (I already have Abbey Road), I have $26.01 of my prize money left.

Nice. I still remember back in 1989, participating in a 100-grid pool at work for March Madness. My team was in the final, and as I watched our player take the last two free throws that would win the game, I also realized that making them would earn me the $90 win. It was doubly fun when he made both shots.

Don't know why my vintage copy of Abbey Road wasn't good enough for you. Was it just because my ex-stepfather's first wife wrote his name on it with a ballpoint pen?Jubbers wrote:Which means, after adding in shipping and copies of Let it Be and Yellow Submarine (I already have Abbey Road), I have $26.01 of my prize money left.

Now this is an annoyance. They cancelled the box - it seems they sold out and didn't take the listing down in time or something. I'm trying to get them to cancel the rest of the order.

I don't know, for 62.5% off, I'd still buy the rest of the collection.Jubbers wrote:Rest of order cancelled. No Beatles for me right now.

Re: Current Non-Annoyance
The only part of my original order they had not cancelled was Let it Be, which wasn't 62.5% off. So I had them cancel it.

Negs, I run a 100-grid pool for March Madness. It is the best way to bet on the tournament because you can win money from every game and it doesn't rely on your ability to pick the winning team.neglet wrote:Nice. Re: Current Non-Annoyance
The Beatles Store's hold on my card finally went away tonight (despite the order being cancelled for a bit). Both vinyl sets are now officially out-of-print, so all that remains is whatever stock retailers have now. Today, though, I was able to order the Beatles *Stereo* Vinyl Box (all the albums, and a much bigger, glossier book, dammit!) for just $13 more than what my Beatles Store order would have been by taking advantage of the Canadian $/US $ exchange rate and ordering it from Amazon.ca
May this order go through successfully. I'm not having much luck this week, and could use "an easy win," as they say at work.

I have just spent the last 20 minutes asking Siri a series of outrageous questions.

Yeah! Turns out Siri can beat box. However ask her to explain why mawkish outpourings of competitive grieving in public forums such as social media may in fact illustrate that we have reached a point whereby our collective over emotionality means our adventurous development as a species is now stalled........ and she's shit out of luck.
