The Corona reminiscence thread
Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Oh, wait. You meant JangoFett24 CA 1.0. I thought you were talking about Mango.
I know JangoFett24 did some work on a Castlevania fan film. I don't know if he finished it. Looked like it had some decent production values, but it also looked like it suffered from superbadass overload. It was like a pre-300 300.
He was also a background ape in Burton's Planet of the Apes remake, but you already knew that.

Re: The Corona reminiscence thread
Jakester's last post on Corona was "You are free to choose your own interpretation."
Those are pretty decent last words when taken out of context.
We're coming up the anniversary of his death. Should we do something? I don't know what we'd do.

We should preserve those words. You are right, pretty cool last words. Just wish they weren't the last.
Ex-Mrs Dalty's Mum died suddenly today. Cancer that spread quickly and was not able to be stopped. After 12 years it felt terrible and wrong to not be there for her at this awful and testing time. It made me sad and made me think about Jakester and how it was nearly a year.
It was the night before I flew to Miami before doing that Central America trip and winding up in San Diego. I remember feeling terribly guilty being in America, drinking beer and having a good time on Ocean Drive when somewhere in the same country was the family of my friend going through such terrible pain.
I am sure we will keep remembering him as long as we are still all knocking about together online.
Anyone reached out to Scarlet lately?

Re: The Corona reminiscence thread
I sent her a message a few weeks back to say howdy and to let her know about this place. The last time we chatted in earnest was in August.
We sometimes like and respond to one another's Facebook posts, but I guess that's not real communication.

Yeah, we're 'Friends' on Facebook.
Maybe I'll see if I can get her to stop by over here.

Re: The Corona reminiscence thread
I called her a couple weeks ago and got her voicemail, but we've chatted here and there over the past couple months. She's working a LOT these days by the sound of things and may or may not have moved to Pittsburgh. I know it was a distinct possibility, but I haven't been able to touch base with her since that possibility strongly arose.Bananarama's Bouncy Bits wrote:

If she's in Pittsburgh, it means I have yet another friend living in Pittsburgh.
fastcar's in Pittsburgh.

Kah posted here once, didn't she?
She and I have a standing date for if/when Springsteen plays Milwaukee again.

Relatedly, he still hasn't booked a show for Milwaukee.
HE NEEDS TO HURRY UP AND BOOK A SHOW IN MILWAUKEE!

I would consider any date where I spent the whole date standing to be an unsuccessful date.

I'm not talking about sex. I'm talking about being lazy and needing to take an occasional seat.

Re: The Corona reminiscence thread
My experience at those shows has been that you stand in line for a while, then sit down, then walk in a semi-orderly fashion to the concert floor, then sit down on the floor, then stand for about three hours, try not to drop Bruce when he surfs over your head, lose your voice, go home and call it a night.
Best nights of my life. No lie.
